20:00 Reading, Music, Moth-Watching
In da Höll
An interspecific encounter at dusk
from Anita Fuchs and Natascha Gangl
Music: Franziska Hatz und Richie Winkler
Biologist: Alexander Weihs
Anita Fuchs and Natascha Gangl—two artists who explore the ecosystems and history of the landscape—invite you to join them: Fuchs focuses on insects, fungi, and plants; Gangl on language, sound, and rhythm. The meeting point is the Field Station on the Slovenian border: a former apple orchard that Fuchs has been restoring to its natural state since 2020. At twilight, the meadow becomes a theater, and the border stream, insects, and plants take center stage. Moth expert Alexander Weihs opens up new realms of perception. Natascha Gangl reads from her work-in-progress, accompanied by musicians Franziska Hatz and Richie Winkler.
Natascha Gangl (2025 Bachmann Prize winner, 2025/26 Kunstraum Steiermark Fellowship) and Anita Fuchs are united by their long-term artistic work in, with, and for the region.
An event organized by the Styrian Society for Cultural Policy as part of HochSommer
Meet at 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial for Peace.
The event will take place outdoors, in an open field.
Field Station Kramarovci
Anita Fuchs has leased a meadow on the border with Slovenia. There, she works in a process-oriented manner from her FIELD STATION: a silvery cube that serves as both a research station and a workspace. Not only does it transform the surrounding landscape into an exhibition space, but it also serves as the artistic base camp for Anita Fuchs’ biological and cultural-anthropological studies.
